01The client & the brief

A trusted course provider, outgrowing its website.

The Teacher Trainer is a family-run, Ofqual-regulated training centre based in Milton Keynes. Since 2012 it has qualified teachers, trainers, assessors and internal quality assurers (IQAs), with every course studied fully online at the learner's own pace.

The courses had moved on, but the website had not. It ran on ageing code and hosting, and the route from "which course is right for me?" to "I've enrolled" was longer than it needed to be.

The brief: make choosing a course simple, make enrolling quick, and lose nothing in the move.

  • ✕Ageing code and hosting that made every change slower and riskier than it should be.
  • ✕A growing course catalogue that needed a clearer path from first visit to enrolment.
  • ✕Search visibility worth protecting on course pages that had ranked for years.
  • ✕Tracking in a third-party container rather than an account the business owned.
02What we did

Organised around routes, built to be found.

We redesigned and rebuilt the site with the founder and team, planning every page around the question a visitor arrives with: which qualification do I need, and how do I start?

01

Three clear routes

Courses grouped by what the learner wants to do: teach, assess or quality assure, with a course quiz for anyone unsure where to start.

02

Course pages that answer everything

Each qualification has its own page covering fees, curriculum, entry requirements, comparisons and FAQs, with enrol and book-a-call buttons always in reach.

03

Flexible online enrolment

A PayPal checkout with pay in full, Pay in 3 and pay in 30 days options, so learners can choose a course and enrol in one sitting.

04

Nothing lost in the move

Every course page kept its existing URL, retired pages were redirected to their closest match, and the new site was reviewed on a staging copy with a rollback plan before launch.

05

SEO built in

Titles, descriptions, canonical tags and structured data in the source of every page, plus an XML sitemap and clean redirects from day one.

06

Tracking the client owns

Analytics and ad tags moved into a Google Tag Manager container in the client's own account, loaded only after cookie consent.

03The new site

A website that explains itself.

04The result

Redesign, rebuild and everything after launch.

The new website went live in October 2026. Learners can see the route that fits them, compare qualifications and enrol online, and the team has one agency looking after the site, its search visibility and its advertising.

Because the people who built the site also support it, updates and fixes do not start with someone learning the code from scratch.
